The App allows users to upload photos (which should not contain personally identifiable information or “PII”), performs backend analysis using external optical character recognition (OCR) and large language model (LLM) systems, and provides various suggestions based on that analysis. The App is subscription-based with a free trial period, managed through in-app purchases via Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We use your Google or Apple account for authentication, and no separate profile creation is required. The App has no age restrictions.

 

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Interpretation
Words with the initial letter capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. These definitions apply whether they appear in singular or plural form.

– Account: An account created for you via your Google or Apple login to access our App.
– App or Application: The mobile software program provided by the Company, named HomeUtilities.

– Device: Any device that can access the App, such as a smartphone or tablet.
– Personal Data: Any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.

– Usage Data: Data collected automatically from your use of the App.

Information We Collect

We collect limited information to provide and improve the App’s functionality. We do not collect PII from the photos you upload.
 
Types of Data Collected
Personal Data
We collect limited Personal Data through your Google or Apple login, including but not limited to:
– Email address (for account authentication and communication).
– Basic profile information provided by Google or Apple (name and user ID, as per their policies).

 

We do not require you to create a separate profile in the App. Subscription and payment information is handled exclusively through Apple App Store or Google Play Store in-app purchases, and we do not collect or store payment details such as credit/debit card information.
 
User-Uploaded Content
– Photos uploaded by you for analysis. These photos are assumed to contain no PII, as per our guidelines. We do not collect or extract PII from these photos.

 

Usage Data
Collected automatically when using the App, including:
– Device information (device type, operating system, unique device identifiers).
– App usage details (features accessed, time spent, IP address, diagnostic data).
– Log data for troubleshooting and performance monitoring.

 

We do not collect location data unless explicitly enabled and necessary (which it is not for our core features).
 
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
– To Provide and Maintain the App: Analyze uploaded photos using external OCR and LLM systems to generate suggestions. Hence it is advised in general not to upload photos containing PII or sensitive data.
– To Manage Your Account: Authenticate your access via Google or Apple login and manage user preferences. Subscription and free trial management is handled through Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
– To Improve the App: Analyze Usage Data to enhance features, fix bugs, and optimize performance.
– For Customer Support: Respond to your inquiries, provide updates, and resolve issues.
– To Comply with Legal Obligations: Respond to legal requests or protect our rights, users, or the public.
– For Internal Analytics: Understand user behavior to improve the App without identifying individuals.

 

We do not use your data for marketing purposes unless you explicitly opt-in.
 
Sharing Your Information
We do not share your data with any third parties except as necessary to provide the App’s services:
– Service Providers: We share uploaded photos with external OCR and LLM providers solely for analysis and suggestion generation. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and not use it for other purposes.
– Apple and Google for Authentication and In-App Purchases: Account authentication data (e.g., email) is managed by Google or Apple login services, and subscription data is managed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not access or store payment data. Please review their respective privacy policies for details.
– Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, such as in response to a court order, or to prevent harm.
– Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred as part of the business.

 

We do not sell your data or share it with any other third parties for their own purposes.
 
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers. We retain Personal Data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined (e.g., during your account’s active use and for a reasonable period after).

 

We implement reasonable security measures, including encryption, access controls, and regular audits, to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or breach. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
 

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., under GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights including:

We do not knowingly collect PII from uploaded photos, and we rely on Google and Apple login services to manage account authentication. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy periodically. Changes will be posted in the App with the updated effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
